§ The firm, the people, the work
A small consulting firm with one stubborn idea: procedures should be readable.
Chaiwan Consulting was founded in Vientiane to do one thing well — design operational systems that Lao businesses can actually use, in language their teams actually speak.
We were founded in 2021 by a small team who had spent years inside Lao SMEs as finance managers, operations leads, and external advisors. We kept watching the same pattern: ambitious founders, capable teams, and businesses that ran entirely in the founder’s head.
When the founder traveled, the business slowed. When a key staffer left, knowledge walked out the door. When the accounts didn’t reconcile, no one could tell whether the problem was a typo or a tax exposure.
The fix was always the same — write it down, build the system, train the team — but no one was offering that work in a form that fit the Lao market. So we started Chaiwan.
§ Our Mission
To give every Lao enterprise the operational backbone of a well-run institution — without losing the founder's voice.
01 / IN-MARKET
We work in Lao, in Laos.
Every consultant on the team is based in Vientiane and has built operations inside Lao companies. The procedures we write reflect how things actually get done here, in both Lao and English.
02 / WRITTEN TO BE USED
No 200-page binders.
The best SOP is the one your team actually opens. We write short, structured documents with diagrams, checklists, and decision points — built for the person doing the job at 9am on a Tuesday.
03 / FINANCE-LED
Numbers anchor everything.
We treat operations and accounting as one system, not two. A procedure that can’t be measured is a procedure we haven’t finished writing.
04 / HONEST SCOPING
We say no when we should.
Not every business needs a full SOP manual today. Sometimes the right answer is a one-week audit, a single workflow rebuild, or a referral. We tell you that upfront.
